The Wolfe Stage School Circus- Tramore Valley Park November 6-8th 2015
Your child is performing in “The Wolfe Stage School Circus” this weekend Friday 6th– Sunday 8th November. Details of your performance time and rehearsal time were given in a previous letter in October. Anyone who is unsure about their times needs to speak to their teacher today.
All students have a rehearsal in the tent this weekend. It is compulsory for every student to attend this rehearsal, to allow them to familiarise themselves with the tent and performance area.
Students should arrive 45 minutes before their performance time on Saturday and Sunday .Those performing on Friday should attend their rehearsals at 4.30pm and remain with us until the performance begins. Please ensure that you label all of your child’s things to ensure that you get it back.
Tramore Valley Park is a no smoking area. Smoking is prohibited within the grounds of the entire park as per Cork City Council Guidelines. We ask that you respect this.
Tickets are available to purchase on http://wolfestageschool.eventbrite.ie . Tickets must be purchased in advance and there will not be available to purchase on the day of the performance itself.
Dropping and Collecting
On entering the Tramore Valley Park from the South Link Dual Carriageway, drive straight ahead and at the roundabout take your first exit to your left. Continue straight, passing a small building on the left hand side and the car parking area is behind this building on your left hand side. The circus tent is on the right hand side, opposite the car park. Please park your car in this designated area and bring your child over to us at the circus tent main entrance.
For the rehearsals you do not need to stay with them, and can collect them after their rehearsal from the marquee located behind the circus tent (we will show you on the day). This will help alleviate congestion between the group arriving for rehearsals and the group going home.
For performances, you should drop your child again to the main tent entrance 45minutes before the show begins (1.45pm or 6.45pm) and return to your car. Spectators and parents will be admitted to the tent 30 minutes before the show commences (2pm and 7pm). Please remember that getting the children ready for their performance is our main priority and once they are all ready, we will be able to admit spectators into the tent. After the performance children can be collected from the circus ring itself- This way parents will not have to leave the tent to collect their child after the show. Please remember that the going home always takes time, some children are much quicker than others at getting ready and so please do bear this in mind.
We are aware that the dropping and collecting of children is a busy time at both the rehearsals and performance so we ask for your patience in advance. Keeping every child safe is our main priority.
Litte Stars and Budding Ballerinas are not required for rehearsals.
What you need:
Dance students should wear their Dance uniform and dance shoes – Cardigans and hoodies are not required. We will provide a costume for them. The leotard will be worn underneath the costume for changing purposes. Please ensure that all leotards, shoes, leggings are clearly labelled with your child’s name.
Drama Students should wear a t shirt and shorts and their black plymsoles. We will provide a costume for them. The leotard will be worn underneath the costume for changing purposes
Chaperones & Parking Stewards:
We are still looking for parents to help us out with chaperoning and stewarding at both rehearsals and performances across the weekend. Chaperoning duties will include dressing children and taking them to the toilet. Stewarding duties will involve directing traffic for car parking. Even if you could lend us a hand before and after your child’s rehearsal or performance, that would be a great help. Anyone who is available please text Careen on 087 2420630.
There will be no classes next Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th November in the studio in Dosco. We will make these up in December. All other classes will run as normal that week.
Finally we wish to thank every student for their hard work in the lead up to this event, particularly our staff who are working tirelessly behind the scenes. We are very excited for this event and hope that everyone enjoys it.
