Cheer leading is one of Ireland’s fastest growing sports. Irish Competitive Cheerleading
is gaining popularity for many reasons; It is a FUN activity that combines all the athletic components of sport such as strength, power, flexibility, endurance and fitness, as well as
the artistic and creative qualities of dance. The Wolfes cheer squad was founded in 2009
as Cork’s first and only competitive cheerleading program. Over the past few years, The
Wolfes Cheer Squad has grown in talent and size and become known as one of the top
cheerleading programs in Munster. We are a certified and registered with the Irish Cheer
Sport Association and National Council for Spirit Safety and Education.

This October our squad travelled to Dublin to represent the school at the All Ireland Cheerleading Championships and came in First Place in their category for Senior Level 1.
The Wolfes Cheerleading classes welcome new members including those who have no
experience, those who have been involved in cheer, dance or gymnastics and those who
are in between. Our highly successful cheerleading programme allows children to develop
skills and techniques from dance and gymnastics through fast paced stunts, dance, jumps and tumbling. Our team structures allow both novice and experienced students to join and take part at a level that suits their ability. Coaches work with each team developing all cheer elements including jump sequences, tumbling passes, stunts, tosses, pyramids and arm motions.
The Wolfes Cheerleading Squad aims to foster a love and a passion for cheerleading amongst its members while encouraging them to make new friendships, gain and master new skills and abilities, develop a sense of belonging and enjoy the success and the challenges that come with competitions. Our cheerleading programme compliments our dance programme, and so only students registered in our dance classes are eligible to join the cheer squad.
The Wolfes Cheer leading Squad is a competitive cheer squad with an impressive record of placements in local and national competitions. Our Senior Level 2 Cheerleaders’ were the All Ireland Champions for 2010. In 2011 All Star Nationals we placed 4th in Junior cheer and 2nd in Junior Freestyle Pom dance. We also brought home an impressive four 2nd place and one 3rd place from the All Ireland’s 2012.
